All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: December 16, 1943 Winn Parish Enterprise Former Resident Of Gaars Mill Is Buried At Tyler Funeral services for William Michael Gaar, 69, a former resident of Gaars Mill, who died at his home in Tyler, Texas, on December 1, 1943, were held in Tyler last Friday at 3 p.m. Mr. Gaar resided in Bossier City for several years and was owner of the Community Drug Store. He retired a year ago due to ill health. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Shane of the Marvin Methodist church and burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Gaar was born at Gaar's Mill and made his home in Dodson and Tullos before moving to Bossier City. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. In addition to his widow, Mrs. Bernice Ford Gaar, he is survived by two sons, Kermit Gaar, Bossier City, and Corp. Howard Gaar of Orlando, Fla.; four daughters, Mrs. O. L. Deason, Mrs. N. T. Bennett, and Mrs. Garland Humphries, all of Tyler, and Mrs. Roy G. Folse of Dallas; four sisters, Mrs. D. M. Stovall of Shreveport, Mrs. Della Payne and Miss Zella Gaar of Dodson, and Mrs. Maggie Sanders, Ruston; and two brothers, B. E. Gaar of Gaars Mill and Marshall Gaar of Minden.
