Zion James Garner, 55 years old, who died in Palestine, Texas Thursday morning, July 26th, was buried at the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Montgomery, Louisiana, Saturday July 29th, funeral services being conducted by the Rev. Strozier. Mr. Garner was a native of Louisiana, having moved to Frankton, Tex., a few years ago. His wife, who before her marriage was Miss Willie Plunkett, six children, two brothers, and one sister survive him. The children are Miss Bessie Garner of Mesquite, Texas, Mrs. Martha Ridgway and Miss Lydia Garner of Dallas, Texas, E. J., Tom, and Ebba Garner of Frankton, Texas, brothers, are John Garner of St. Maurice and Joe Garner of Montgomery, also his sister, Mrs. Jane Horn of Montgomery.
