Garrett Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie Eugene Garrett, 72, of Winnfield, Rt. 4, who died at 5 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, after a lengthy illness, were held at Bethlehem Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. F. M. York officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery. Mrs. Garrett, a resident of Winn Parish for 45 years, was born in Ashland, La., May 12, 1878 and was a member of the Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, E. T. Garrett; five sons, Brithol, Douglas and Hubbard Garrett, all of Winnfield, Rt. 4 and Smith Garrett of Minden (note: only four sons listed in obituary); one daughter, Mrs. Winnie Pardue of Jonesboro; two brothers, Liberty Thomas of Ashland and Anderson Thomas of Shreveport; three sisters, Mrs. Winnie Bogan of Cotton Valley, Mrs. Ophelia Whitman of Choudrant, and Mrs. Lizzie Ross of Marthaville.
