E. Gaar To Be Held Friday, 2:30 Last rites for Barton E. Gaar, 79, native of the Dodson-Gaars Mill community, who died in a Monroe hospital Wednesday at 9 p.m., will be held at the New Hope Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 6. Mr. Gaar had been in ill health for several years. He was born and reared in the Gaars Mill community and also reared his own family in the community. He was considered an outstanding farmer and stock raiser in this area. His remains will be at his home in Dodson until time of the funeral services. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Laura Carroll Gaar; six sons, Dr. Malcolm Gaar, a member of the faculty at Louisiana State University; Guy of Dodson; Weyland of Lake Charles; D. E. and Beeson of Monroe; Aswell of Clinton; one daughter, Mrs. Roy Dahl of Monroe; and a number of grandchildren. He also leaves four sisters, Miss Zella Gaar and Mrs. Della Payne, both of Dodson; Mrs. Dennis Stovall, Shreveport; and Mrs. Maggie Sanders, Ruston; and one brother, L. M. Gaar of Minden.
