Mrs. Francis Ella Gaar With The Dead

On January 10, 1925, Mrs. Francis Ella Gaar passed quietly away at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. Arah Gaar Jameson, of Chillicothe, Texas.  Mrs. Gaar was
born in Mississippi, April 18, 1843, and was married to William R. Gaar,
August 15, 1861, or at the age of 19 years.  To this union were born 4
children, all of whom are living and married.  They are Mrs. Arah Gaar
Jameson, Chillicothe, Texas; Rev. W. M. D. Gaar, Winnfield; Rev. J. R. Gaar,
Boston, Mass; Rev. J. E. Gaar, Des Moines, Iowa, and a host of grandchildren,
to mourn her passing.

Mrs. Gaar's maiden name was Miss Ella Francis Caldwell and in her early
childhood she became a Christian and joined the Methodist Protestant Church. 
She was truly a typical Christian character, being well known in this section
of north Louisiana for her acts of kindness in ministering unto others.

Mrs. Gaar's death was the result of high blood pressure, heart trouble, and
other maladies.  However, she was very active until only a few months before
the end came, having attended a series of revival services in a nearby town
during the past summer.

After the death of her husband, which occurred in Dodson several years ago,
Mrs. Gaar had been residing with her relatives, Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Jameson,
after which they made their home in Dubach, for some time, having removed to
Chillicothe, Texas, where she lived until she answered the summons and has
gone to her reward.

As an evidence of the popularity and esteem in which the deceased was held is
the fact that so many very beautiful floral offerings were presented all the
way from Chillicothe to their destination, also many were the messages of
sympathy and condolence to the bereaved relatives in this sad hour.

The body was followed to its last earthly resting place by a long concourse of
sorrowing relatives and friends, thereby paying their last respects to the
deceased lady.

The funeral was conducted by the Rev. Slocum, of Jonesboro, pastor of the
Nazarene Church.  Interment was in the New Hope Cemetery, Wednesday morning,
10 o'clock, January 14, 1925.

Mrs. Gaar at the time of her death was a very devout member of the above named
church, her membership having been with the Hudson organization.  The
Enterprise extends heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved in their bereavement.
