Mother of Local Man Succumbs

Mr. John Gardner was called to the bedside of his mother, Mrs. Hattie Gardner,
last week when she suffered a stroke from which she never regained
consciousness.  Mrs. Gardner passed away at another son's home at DeRidder
Thursday night.  Her husband preceded her in death.

Surviving are the following children: John M. Gardner, Winnfield; L. C.
Gardner, Haughton; Will Gardner, DeRidder; and Mrs. H. Emerson.  She also
leaves the following brothers and sister: John T. Watts, Winnfield; Dan Watts,
Willie Watts, Ruston; Alvin Watts, Minden; Clark Watts, Texas; and Mrs. Webb
Talton, New Mexico.

Mr. and Mrs. John M. Gardner, Misses Jewel Watts, Sarah Dean and Elois Maxey
attended the funeral at Ruston Saturday.
