E. Garriss Services for Arnett Earl Garriss were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church of Winnfield with the Revs. Calvin Phelps and H. C. Blaney officiating. Burial was in the Garden of Memories under direction of Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield. Garriss, 72, of Winnfield died at 11:45 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 1978 in Rapides General Hospital. He was a native of Winn Parish and a retired rural mail carrier, veteran of World War II, member of the V. F. W. and the First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Annie Jo Garriss of Winnfield; two daughters, Mrs. John Herd of Winnfield and Mrs. Vernon Ford of Alexandria, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Pallbearers were nephews including Jim Terrill, Bill Terrill, Terry Terrill, Howard Porter, Gene William Porter, and Jerry Martin.
