E. Garner, 53, Dies After Brief Illness John Ebbin Garner, 53, of Montgomery, Route 1, Mt. Zion Community, died at 10:30 p.m. Monday, January 17, 1972 after a short illness at Winnfield General Hospital. He was an engineer for Louisiana Department of Highways, a member of Montgomery Masonic Lodge, and of Mt. Zion Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Methodist Church Wednesday with Rev. G. A. McVay officiating, assisted by Rev. Alson Jeter and Rev. Roy Moore. Masonic graveside rites were held. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Clarice Garner of Mt. Zion; two sons, John Ebbin Garner, Jr. of Baton Rouge, Roger Dell Garner of Montgomery; one daughter, Jennifer Kaye Garner of Mt. Zion; one brother, Arnold Garner of Montgomery; two sisters, Miss Mae Garner of Montgomery and Mrs. Pearl Jennings of Montgomery, and one grandchild.
