Funeral Rites For John W. Garner Held

Funeral services for John W. Garner, 55, of Winnfield were held at 2 p.m.
Tuesday at the Goldonna Baptist Church with Rev. Kit Hawthorne officiating.

Burial was in the Goldonna Cemetery.

Mr. Garner died Sunday, March 14, 1971 at the Winnfield General Hospital
following a long illness.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Garner of Belle Chasse, John L. Garner of
Winnfield, and Paul W. Garner of Meridian, Miss.; four daughters, Janice
Smith, Carolyn Garner, Emily Ann Garner, and Paula Lourean Garner, all of
Meridian, Miss.; five brothers, Leroy Garner of Winnfield, Luther Garner of
Calvin, Hubert Garner of Calvin, Willis Garner of Goldonna, and Laymond Garner
of Alabama; four sisters, Mrs. Lonnie Devine and Mrs. Bessie Gresham of
Alabama, Mrs. Mammie Simon of New Orleans, and Mrs. Eula Duff of Winnfield;
and four grandchildren.
