Mrs. Garner

The funeral of Mrs. Lessie R. Garner, 84, of Charleston, S. C., was held
at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Methodist Church in Montgomery with the
Rev. Mark Martin officiating.  Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery under
the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Mrs. Garner died Sunday, August 6, 1978 in a Charleston, S. C. hospital after
a lengthy illness.  

She was a retired school teacher and a native of Montgomery.

Survivors include two sons, Elvin H. Garner, Houston, Robert A. Garner, U. S.
Navy, South Carolina; one daughter, Mrs. Edna K. Yates, Homer; three brothers,
Earl Rogers, Shreveport, Waymon E. Rogers, Colfax, Ozzro Rogers, Montgomery;
two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Michels, Alexandria, and Mrs. Inez R. Figueron,
Lake Charles; six grandchildren, five step grandchildren, and 10 great
grandchildren.
