M. Gaar Of Dodson Succumbs December 15, 1943 Mrs. J. M. Gaar, age 55, died at her home in Dodson, La., Wednesday, Dec. 15, after suffering ill health for the past several years. Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 16, at the Dodson Methodist Church by Rev. C. D. White, of Ruston. Rev. H. B. Hysell, of Winnfield, and Rev. Roy Grant, of Quitman, assisted in the rites. Burial was in the Transport Cemetery. A lifelong resident of Winn Parish, Mrs. Gaar was born January 21, 1888 near Dodson. She was a member of the Dodson Methodist Church. Surviving Mrs. Gaar are her husband, J. M. Gaar of Dodson; two sons, Cordel Gaar of Monroe and Masquellette Gaar of Alexandria; one daughter, Mrs. A. B. Wall of Dodson; three grandchildren; her father, E. Walker, one sister, Mrs. Iva W. Peters, both of Dodson; two brothers, Morgan W. Walker of Alexandria and W. G. Walker of New Orleans. Pallbearers were Murphy Barr, Wilbur Sholars, Scotland Campbell, and D. E. Gaar, all of Dodson; Jack Thompson and Victor Henderson of Alexandria.
