The dead are Kenneth U. Williams, 16, of Atlanta; Harry Gene Garrard, 25, of Winnfield; Lloyd E. Waxley, 52, of Winnfield; and Quincy C. Jordan, 33, of Joyce. Funeral services for all four were held Monday in Winnfield. Mr. Waxley was one of two Democratic candidates for the Democratic State Central Committee post. He was the brother of Ward Nine School Board member Roy T. Waxley. Goldonna Town Marshal Frazier, among the first to arrive at the scend, gave this account: The car was traveling toward Goldonna on the Goldonna-Creston Road (La. 156). It went out of control in a severe curve, left the highway, ramming into the embankment along the side of the Point or Lake Road which intersects La. 156. The car stoped on the side of the Point Rd. Mr. Waxley and Mr. Garrard were thrown onto the highway. Mr. Jordan and Mrs. Williams were found in the back seat of the demolished car. Frazier said that Roy Strickland, who lives nearby, heard the crash and drove to the scene. Strickland, after seeing what had happened, returned and notified Frazier who had also heard the accident, which occurred about a mile southwest of Goldonna. It was the second fatal accident in this same curve in two years. Two Negroes were killed in a similar accident when a car carrying six persons left the road and hit the embankment in 1961.
