S. Gassiott Will Be Held Friday Succumbs At Her Home Thursday After Long Illness Mrs. J. S. Gassiott, 59 years of age, died at her home here Thursday morning at 2:30 following an illness of three years duration. Funeral services will be held at the Winnfield Methodist Church Friday afternoon at 2:30 with the pastor, Rev. G. A. Morgan, in charge. He will be assisted by the Rev. Alwin Stokes, Presbyterian minister, and the Rev. H. H. McBride, Baptist pastor. Interment will follow in the local cemetery. A native of Texas, Mrs. Gassiott was married to Mr. Gassiott on November 17, 1894, and moved to Winnfield with her husband and family from Groveton in 1919. Mr. Gassiott was employed in Groveton by the Tremont and Gulf Railway and transferred to Winnfield with the same company. Mrs. Gassiott is a member of the First Methodist Church, the Ladies Society of Brotherhood of Locomotive, Firemen, and Enginemen, the Macabees, and the Woodmen Circle. Surviving are her husband, one son, J. E. Gassiott of Tremont, and two daughters, Mrs. H. D. Emerson of Jonesboro, Ark., and Miss Josie Gassiott of Winnfield. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Pearl Madden, Crockett, Texas; and two brothers, L. P. Billington, Velasco, Texas, and L. J. Billington, of Corpus Christi, Texas.
