F. Gates of Sikes, Aug. 14 Life-Time Resident of Ward Three Buried at Mineral Springs Mrs. Isadore Caroline Brister Gates, 77 years, 3 months, and 14 days, died at her home in Sikes, August 14, 1937, following several years ill health with Bright's Disease. Funeral services were held at Mineral Springs Church on August 15th with Rev. L. D. Emmons in charge. Interment was in the Mineral Springs Church. Pallbearers were Relton Gates, Arlie Gates, Aris Branch, E. C. Gates, Mr., Elton Gates, Willie Thigpen, and Nathan Roberts. Mrs. Gates was born and reared in the Brister Community. She was a faithful member of the Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, I. F. Gates, three sons and one daughter, W. A. Gates, E. C. Gates, C. F. Gates, and Delia Gates, all residents of Sikes; one brother, A. C. Brister, Alexandria; and one sister, Mrs. Parilee Adams, of Sikes.
