Loyce Gates of Sikes Succumbs In Shreveport

Funeral Services Held at Sikes Baptist Church Monday

Loyce Gates, 29 years of age of Sikes, died in a Shreveport hospital Sunday,
having been carried there on Monday for treatment.  Mr. Gates had been in ill
health for some time but his condition was not thought critical

Funeral services were conducted at the Sikes Baptist Church on Monday by the
Rev. Guy Emmons.  Interment was in the Sikes Cemetery.

Mr. Gates was one of the young farmers of the Sikes Community.  He was married
several years ago to Miss Katie Hinton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Hinton.

Surviving besides his wife are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Gates of Sikes;
one brothers, Morris Gates of Dodson and one sister, Mrs. Ada Brown of
Henderson, Texas.
