Gates Brother Dies At Alexandria After Short Illness Interment Made In Greenwood Memorial Park, Saturday, Nov. 30 Jesse Gates, 62, of Alexandria, and a brother of J. N. Gates of Winnfield died at Alexandria Friday, November 22, and was buried the following day. Interment was made in Greenwood Memorial Park, services being conducted by Rev. E. O. Wood of Louisiana College. Mr. Gates was born in Grant Parish and in 1890 located near Poland, where he has until the present time engaged in agricultural pursuits. He was a member of the Baptist Church, the Masonic fraternity, and the Woodmen of the World. Deceases is survived by his wife and ten children. The children are as follows: George W. Gates and R. L. Gates of Alexandria; W. H. Gates and Edgar Gates of Elizabeth; Mrs. Earl M. Nielson and Alton Gates of Point Looma, Cal.; Mrs. J. J. Davis, San Antonio, Tex.; Mrs. Herbert Singletary of Dallas, Tex.; H. W. Gates of Bastrop. He leaves six grandchildren and the following brothers: B. F. Gates of Sikes, La.; J. N. Gates of Winnfield; E. C. Gates of Pollock; W. H. Gates of Alco; M. M. Gates of Magda.
