Final Rites For Jesse W. Gates Held At Hebron

Last rites for Jesse W. Gates, 85 year old Winn Parish native who died
November 13 at his home in Clarks after a long illness, were held at 3 p.m.
November 15 in the Hebron Baptist Church.  Burial was in the church cemetery
under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Mr. Gates was a retired farmer and member of the Hebron Baptist Church.

He leaves his widow; three sons, Eather J. Smith of Shreveport, Verlon of
Clarkes, Jason of Urania; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Peppers, Mrs. Ruby
Kelly, and Mrs. Cecil McGinty of Clarks; four brothers, Sam and Oliver Gates
of Sikes, Robert Gates of Winnfield, and Dewey Gates of Crowville; three
sisters, Mrs. Rendie Kenny of Edgewood, Texas, Mrs. Jewel Holloway of Monroe,
and Mrs. Letha Busty of Monroe; and 13 grandchildren.
