Gatlin, son of Mr. Hugh Gatlin of Route Two, Atlanta, was laid to rest at the Mars Hill Cemetery on December 3, with the Rev. G. B. Foster in charge. The deceased, who was reared and educated in Grant Parish, has lived near Verda in Grant and Winn Parishes for several years. He succumbed at Joinerville, Texas on December 1 as a result of a complication of sicknesses. He was born September 11, 1907 and was 27 years of age at the time of his death. He had been a member of the Hargis Missionary Baptist Church sine 1925 and besides his father is survived by his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Batson Gatlin and three children, Charles and Erlene and Arlis. Sisters and brothers surviving are Mrs. May Bazar, Montgomery, Route 1; Mrs. Lou Bryant, Montgomery, Route 1; Mrs. Eula Walker, Epps, La.; Mrs. Nola Devore, Pensacola, Fla.; and Miss Fannie Gatlin, Orala, Texas.
