Gentry, 77, Dies From Heart Attack Thursday J. D. Gentry, age 77, died at his home five miles south of Winnfield at six o'clock Thursday morning form a sudden heart attack. Mr. Gentry had _____ at his usual time, five o'clock, and had started a fire in the _____ stove preparatory to making his morning coffee and as _____ entered or was going out of the kitchen door he was stricken and fell and it was there he was found a few minutes later. Mr. Gentry was a native of Harrison County, Georgia and a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. He came to Louisiana in 1891 and for the past twenty years has resided five miles south of Winnfield, engaged in farming. Funeral services will be held today at Old Corinth Church and interment in the church cemetery, conducted by the Rev. M. E. Brown of Homer. Surviving the deceased are his widow, one son, ?. ?. Gentry of Winnfield, and one daughter, Mrs. Etta Cheatwood of Ruston. ===== Submitter: Greggory E. Davies Date: 20 June 2004 Source: Winnfield News-American October 14, 1938 Former Winnfield Merchant Dies In New Mexico Sun. R. R. Gibson, 60, former merchant of Winnfield, died at Carlsbad, N. M., Sunday afternoon, October 9, according to a message received by relatives. Funeral services were held at Carlsbad, Tuesday. Surviving Mr. Gibson is his daughter, Matsie, and a son, Howard; two brothers, John Gibson of Montgomery and Charley Gibson of Monroe. =====
