George E. Stubbs Dies June 4 After Long Illness Here

Funeral services for George Edward Stubbs, 71, who died in a Winnfield
hospital Monday after a lingering illness, were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the
Stubbs' residence here.  Rev. Luther Booth officiated, assisted by Dr. W. L.
Holcomb.  Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Southern
Funeral Home.

The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena Stubbs; a son, Claude Stubbs,
Bastrop; a daughter, Mrs. Willie Verne Hall, Winnfield; five grandchildren,
two great grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and two brothers, C. T.
Stubbs, Richard, Texas and R. L. Stubbs, Oregon.
