All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: July 14, 1950 Winnfield News-American Last Rites For Carl Gilstrap, 39, Held Wednesday Funeral services for James Carl Gilstrap, 39, of Winnfield were held at the local Presbyterian Church at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, with the Rev. Alwin Stokes officiating. Interment was in the family plot at Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mr. Gilstrap, who had been in poor health for a number of years, died in a local hospital at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 11. He was born in Arkansas March 30, 1911 and had made his home in Winnfield for the past 25 years. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Charles Gilstrap of Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. Elton Nash and Mrs. Norman Smith, both of Winnfield, and Mrs. A. V. Ratcliff of Minden; three brothers, Bill of Winnfield, Charles of Lamesa, Texas, and J. M. of Monroe. Pallbearers were Welby Willis, George Porter, Charlie Ray, Jim Watts, Raymond Dubois, and G. M. Walsworth.
