S. Gilcrease Held At Couley Funeral services for Willie S. Gilcrease, 75, of Winnfield, were held in the First Methodist Church Tuesday with the Rev. Richard S. Walton and the Rev. D. L. Callendar officiating. Burial was in the Double Church Cemetery near Winnfield (Couley), with Masonic rites by the Montgomery Lodge at the graveside. Mr. Gilcrease died at 3:55 a.m. Sunday in the Winnfield General Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a former member of the Shreveport Police Department, the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Department, and the State Police Department. He was also a former employee of the Standard Oil Company. A native of Natchitoches, he was the son of the late William P. Gilcrease and Julia Sellers Gilcrease. He was a nephew of the late "Uncle" Bob Jones, Clerk of Court of Winn Parish. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lucia Gilcrease; one daughter, Mrs. Lucille Martin; one granddaughter, Mrs. Billie Ray (Mary) Berry, all of Winnfield; three brothers, T. M. and C. J. Gilcrease of Shreveport, and George R. Gilcrease, Sr., of Montgomery; three sisters, Mrs. C. H. McQuagge, Sr., Mrs. Irene House, and Mrs. George Maxey, all of Shreveport; a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were nephews, Bain Gilcrease, Milburn Gilcrease, C. H. McQuagge, Jr., E. M. House, Ray Gilcrease, Glen Gilcrease, G. R. Gilcrease, Jr., and Earl Dyson. Honorary pallbearers were stewards of the Couley Methodist Church.
