Dr. Herb Dickerson officiated with Kenneth Brown assisting. Burial followed in Gayla Traina Memorial Cemetery in Jonesboro. She died Monday, November 25, 1985, at Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport. Mrs. Gimber, who was born at Jena, Louisiana, moved with her husband to Jena 49 years ago, taught school for 37 years in Jackson Parish and was the first to instruct a gifted and talented program. She also taught 2 « years at the former Ouachita Parish Junior College in Monroe, predecessor of Northeast Louisiana University. She was a member of Crescent Chapter No. 64, Order of Eastern Star, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro. Survivors are her husband, James P. "Jimmy" Gimber of Jonesboro; one son, Jim Gimber of LaPlace, Louisiana; one daughter, Mrs. Dewanna Pipes of Jonesboro; one brother, Theron Harper of Alexandria; one sister, Mrs. Lillian Herron of Alexandria; and six grandchildren.
