All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: May 23, 1952 Winnfield News-American Mrs. Evie Gislar, 60, of Wheeling, Dies Last Friday Funeral Conducted At Union Hill Church Sunday Afternoon Mrs. Evie Lena Gislar, 60, died suddenly of a heart attack at 6 p.m. Friday, May 16, 1952 as she was returning to her home in the Wheeling Community near Montgomery after a visit in the home of a neighbor. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Union Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Green, pastor, officiating. Interment was under direction of the Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Mrs. Gislar had been a resident of the Wheeling Community for 35 years, and made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Cecil Rhodes, at the time of her death. She was a faithful and devout member of the Union Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Audrey Rhodes of Montgomery, Mrs. Ray Kees of Pineville, and Mrs. Monroe Kelley of Odessa, Texas; three sons, Buford Gislar of Montgomery, Grady Gislar of Odessa and George Gislar of Camp Hood, Texas; one brother, Rufus Jones of Atlanta; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
