All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: May 22, 1952 Winn Parish Enterprise Heart Attack Fatal To Mrs. Evie Lena Gislar, 60 Mrs. Evie Lena Gislar, 60, died suddenly of a heart attack Friday, May 16, 1952, at 6 p.m., which she suffered as she walked along the roadside near her home in the Wheeling community. She was returning from a neighbor's house. Mrs. Gislar had been a resident of the Wheeling community for 35 years and was living with her daughter, Mrs. Cecil Rhodes at the time of her death. She was a devout and faithful member of the Union Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, May 18, at 2:30 p.m. at the Union Hill Baptist Church, with the pastor, Rev. Jerry Green, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Audry Rhodes, Montgomery, and Mrs. Viola Keys, Pineville; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Monroe Kelly, Odessa, Texas; two sons, Buford of Montgomery and George of Camp Hood, Texas; one step son, Grady, of Odessa; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; one brother, Rufus Jones of Atlanta, and several nieces and nephews.
