Gladden Dies of Heart Attack Monday Funeral Services Held From Home Here and Alexandria Presbyterian Church Last rites for Otis W. Gladden, age 67, who died suddenly at his home here early Monday morning from a heart attack, were held from the Presbyterian Church in Alexandria Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock. The services were conducted by the Rev. Alwin Stokes, Winnfield Presbyterian minister, and Rev. John C. Ramsay, pastor of the Alexandria church. Interment was made in the Greenwood Memorial Park. Floral offerings were elaborate and beautiful. Before departure from the family home here services were conducted by Rev. Stokes, Rev. C. C. Wier, and Rev. A. H. Cullen. A large party of Winnfield friends accompanied the remains to Alexandria. Pallbearers were J. V. Scott, E. A. Weeks, W. W. Austin, C. J. Hastings, W. W. Curry, and T. L. Harrel. Mr. Gladden has made his home in Winnfield with his wife and little daughter, Enid, for the past three years, where he was connected with the Mansfield Hardwood Lumber Company. He was a devout member of the Presbyterian Church, an elder in the church, and took an active interest in all church activities, being treasurer, director of the choir and teacher of the Bible Class. The Gladden family came to Winnfield from Alexandria, where he had resided for more than twenty years. Before that time he resided in Indianapolis, Ind. He has been connected with various lumber companies in the state. About fourteen years ago he was married to Miss Zilla Collins, daughter of Mrs. Ed Collins, of Alexandria, and the late Mr. Collins, who with a little daughter, Enid, aged 5 years, survives him. By a former marriage to Miss Jennie Commingore of Indianapolis, Ind., he leaves two sons. The are Sterling Gladden and William Gladden, both of Baton Rouge. The former was with him when he passed away. He also leaves a brother in Wisconsin, one sister in Indiana and two grandchildren, Betty and Jane Gladden.
