Negro Yardman Succumbs Aug. 19 At Mercer Home

Marshall Glynn, 79 year old retired Negro railroad worker and local yardman,
was found dead on the lawn of Mrs. Lotta Mercer August 19.

He had been removing articles from the trunk of a car for Mrs. Mercer when one
of her children discovered him on the ground.

Funeral services were set for 2 p.m. August 24, from the Morning Star Baptist
Church with interment scheduled in the Winnfield Colored Cemetery.

Survivors include his widow, Lou Glynn; a daughter, Bennie Lee Beazley; a son,
Marsel Glynn, Houston, Texas; and several grandchildren.

Death was attributed to natural causes.
