Today Last rites will be held for Mrs. Minnie Godfrey of Jackson, Miss., at eleven o'clock Wednesday morning in the Winnfield Cemetery. Mrs. Godfrey was the wife of the late Dr. Sam Godfrey and the daughter of the late Judge and Mrs. George Wear, former district judge of this district. Dr. Sam Godfrey and Mrs. Godfrey made their home for many years in Winnfield, moving to Jackson shortly after World War I. They lived in the Jim Watts house on the Dodson Highway. The were well known here where Mrs. Godfrey was an active worker in the First Baptist Church. She has a son, Webb Godfrey, who preceded her in death, buried in the local cemetery. Mrs. Godfrey was about 80 years of age at her death. She is survived by a daughter, Edna Godfrey, and a son, Sam Godfrey, of Jackson.
