All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Loyd Golden Fatally Injured In Auto Wreck Mrs. Loyd Golden, aged 28 years, was fatally injured Thursday afternoon May 31st, when an automobile she was driving was wrecked on the Pershing Highway five miles north of Ansley. Mrs. Golden whose home is at Denham was visiting Ansley and in comany with her mother inlaw, Mrs. E. A. Golden, and sister in law, Eva Golden, had started for a drive when the accident occurred. While traveling at a high rate of speed the car struck loose gravel and turned over three times. Mrs. Loyd Golden's chest was completely crushed and died at 5 p.m. Mrs. E. A. Golden is seriously injured and may not recover. The little girl escaped with minor injuries. Mrs. Golden will be remembered in the community as Ellen Monroe and was reared at Goldonna. Her mother, Mrs. Laura Monroe and two sisters, Mrs. T. E. Bossier and Mrs. J. E. Williams are residents of Winnfield. Besides the above named relatives she is survived by her husband, a ten year old daughter by her first marriage, two brothers, Hamilton Monroe of Livingston, Texas; Les Monroe of Denham, La.; and two other sisters, Mrs. W. M. Myers of Shreveport and Mrs. Stalls Joiner of Livingston, Texas. Funeral services were conducted at the Ansley Friday afternoon with interment in the Ansley Cemetery.
