Services Held Sunday For J. E. Goodwin

Funeral rites for James E. Goodwin, 37 year old Winn Parish man, were held at
2 p.m. Sunday in the Pinehill Baptist Church near Tullos with the Rev. Doris
Dearman officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of
Hixson Funeral Home.

Mr. Goodwin died Wednesday, October 2, 1968 en route to a local hospital after
suffering a heart attack.  He was a native of LaSalle Parish, a boiler foreman
for the Tremont Lumber Company at Joyce, and was a member of the Baptist
Church.

He leaves his wife, Mrs.Janella Jones Goodwin of Alexandria; one son, Terry
Goodwin of Alexandria; two brothers, Curtis Goodwin of Franklin and Marshall
Goodwin of Tullos; two sisters, Mrs. Geneva Taylor of Slidell and Mrs. Patsy
Black of Olla; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Goodwin of Urania and his
maternal grandmother, Mrs. Emma Bearden of Columbia.
