J. R. Gorham, Jr., Succumbs; Services Wed.

John Robert Gorham, Jr., 65, of Winnfield, died Monday, December 20, 1971
at Winnfield General Hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Gorham was a native of Winn Parish and a brick mason.  

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at East Winnfield Baptist
church where he was a member, with burial in the Gorham Town Cemetery under
direction of Southern Funeral Home here.

Rev. Jimmy Yocum officiated assisted by Rev. Jordan.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Minnie Lee Gorham of Winnfield; two sons,
Billy Gorham of Winnfield and Lawrence Gorham of Charleston, S. C.; a
stepson, Robert Oehler of Winnfield; one daughter, Winona Allen of
Shreveport; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Jerry Freeman of Fort Worth, Tex.; one
brother, Julius Gorham of Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Edmonds, Mrs.
Louise Maxwell, both of Winnfield, and Mrs. Ailene Curry of Baton Rouge; 11
grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
