Mrs. Viola Gorham Dies at Home Here Monday Morning Mrs. Viola Box Gorham, age 71, wife of John Gorham, Sr., died at her home here on North Boundary, Monday morning at 5:30 o'clock following a long illness. Born in Mississippi, Mrs. Gorham moved to Louisiana when a child, and has made her home in Winn parish practically all her life. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 11:30 o'clock at the Laurel Heights Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Waymon Mott, pastor, assisted by the Rev. George Adams of Crowville. Interment was in the Gorham cemetery at Joyce. Survivors are her husband, John Gorham, Sr., four sons, Herman E.Gorham, John Gorham, Jr., Julius Gorham, and Howard Gorham, all of Winnfield; four daughters, Mrs. E. G. Edmonds(Ruby), Atlanta, Mrs. J. C. Creel (Audrey Mae), Dodson, Mrs. Dennis Curry (Allene), Winnfield, Mrs. Ted Maxwell (Louise), Tioga; two brothers, Eli Box and Jake Box both of Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur Maxey (Melissa), and Mrs. Minnie King, all of Winnfield, and Mrs. Mary Martin, Brookhaven, Mississippi; a great number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
