R. D. Gorham, Navy Officer, Rites To Be Held In Texas

Chief Petty Officer R. D. Gorham, 39 year old Winn Parish native, died
suddenly of a heart attack late Monday at his home in Oak Harbor, Washington. 
He had been in the Navy 21 years.

Mr. Gorham was a graduate of Winnfield High School.  The greater part of his
Naval career was spent at the Corpus Christi Naval Base.  He had recently
transferred to the naval base in Washington where he was scheduled for
retirement this year.

Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Sandy and Randy Gorham of Oak
Harbor; one brother, Billy Ray Gorham of Winnfield; one sister, Mrs. Glen
Davis of Jena; and an aunt, Mrs. Thelma Scott of Natchitoches.

Mr. and Mrs. Billy Ray Gorham of Winnfield and Mrs. Glen Davis of Jena will
attend the last rites of their brother.
