J. P. Gorham, 74, Dies; Interment At Old Union

Jacob P. Gorham, 74, of Joyce, died Monday, February 26, 1968 in a local
hospital after a brief illness.

A lifelong resident of Winn Parish, he was a retired Louisiana Highway
Department employee and a member of the East Winnfield Baptist Church.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at East Winnfield Baptist
Church with Revs. Billy Smithhart, W. A. Wimbs, and Harrison Cockerham
officiating.  Interment was in Old Union Cemetery under direction of Southern
Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Survivors include five sons, Mack Gorham of Pineville, V. J. Gorham of
Columbia, Woody and Jerry Gorham of Winnfield, James Gorham of Joyce; four
daughters, Mrs. Raymond Sutton of Smithville, Texas, Mrs. Odell Myers of Olla,
Mrs. James Bearden of Monroe, Mrs. Odell Lowery of Dodson, one sister, Mrs.
Ola Whisenant of Winnfield, 25 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
