Jesse J. Gorham Succumbs Nine Days After Death of Wife

Jesse J. Gorham, 80 years of age, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. S. T.
Whisenant, Winnfield, Route Two, Monday afternoon, 4:20 o'clock, February 4,
1935.  Death occurred just nine days after death of his wife, Mrs. Martha
McCulom Gorham.

Mr. Gorham lived practically his entire life in Winn Parish.  He was married
to Martha McCulom to which union nine children were born, three of whom
preceded him in death.

Funeral services were conducted at the Gorham Cemetery Tuesday afternoon with
the Rev. A. B. Murry in charge.

Surviving are the following: R. W. and Jake Gorham, Mrs. Ellen Cockerham and
Mrs. S. T. Whisenant, all of Winnfield; two step children, Bill and Henry
Varnell of Winnfield.  One brother, Wesley Gorham, also of Winnfield,
survives.
