Robert W. Gorham, 83, Dies After Lengthy Illness

Funeral services for Robert W. Gorham, 83, a retired filling station operator,
who died in a Winnfield hospital February 29 following a lengthy illness, were
held in the Laurel Heights Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Monday, March 2.

The Rev. C. C. Martin, pastor, and the Rev. E. W. McDaniel officiated at the
service with burial in the Gorham Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers
Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were A. T. Whisenant, DeTroy Whisenant, Robert Lowery, Lawrence
Lowery, Roy Hunter, Doyle Thomas, Cecil Taylor, and James Massey.

Mr. Gorham was a lifelong resident of Winnfield and a member of the Laurel
Heights Baptist Church and the Woodmen of the World.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Callie Hunter Gorham; one daughter, Mrs. Elton
Mixon; one brother, Jake Gorham; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Cockerham and Mrs.
Oler Whisenant, all of Winnfield; four grandchildren and four great
grandchildren.
