Sikes Graduate Killed in Calif. Army Camp

Oakland, Calif., Jan. 27: Pvt. James E. Gough, 24, of near Sikes, Louisiana,
was killed today by the accidental discharge of a service pistol while it was
being cleaned by Sgt. Arse N. Graves.  The bullet struck Gough in the stomach.

Gough, a graduate of the Sikes High School of the class of 1938, is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gough of Rt. 1, Olla, Winn Parish.  He enlisted Nov. 1,
1939 at Barksdale Field.
