G. P. Eagles, Sr., Winn Native, Interred Here

Funeral services for George P. Eagles, Sr., 89, of Shreveport, were held at
11:30 a.m. Thursday in Osborn Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Gordon, pastor
of Caddo Heights Baptist Church, officiating.  Graveside services were set for
2 p.m. Friday in Winnfield Cemetery in Winnfield.

Mr. Eagles died Wednesday, January 10, 1973 in Midway Manor Nursing Home after
a short illness.

Mr. Eagles was a native of Winnfield and had lived in Shreveport for 15 years.
He was a bookkeeper for the U. B. Carpenter Mercantile Co., in Winnfield and a
member of Caddo Heights Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sons, Earl Lamar Eagles of Alexandria, Va., and George
P. Eagles, Jr. of Denham Springs; one daughter, Mattie Lou Farmer of
Shreveport; four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
