G. P. Long, Jr.

Services for George Parker Long, Jr., 84, of Winnfield, were held at 9 a.m.
Monday, July 7th, at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield with Rev. Steve  
Caraway and Dr. Calvin Phelps officiating.  Burial was in the Winnfield City
Cemetery.

Mr. Long died Friday, July 14, 1989 at the Humana Hospital in Winnfield after
a lengthy illness.  He was a retired City Clerk for Winnfield after serving
under three administrations.  He was a member of the First United Methodist
Church of Winnfield.

He is survived by one brother, J. Charles Long of Pineville; one sister, Mrs.
Elizabeth Norman of Dallas, Texas; several nieces and nephews.
