A. Gresham, 57, member of a prominent Winn Parish family, who died Monday, June 9, 1952, after a long illness, were held at the Atlanta Baptist Church Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Ernest Walker, pastor, officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. Hurt of Jonesboro. Burial was in the Atlanta Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were John Henry Barnes, Granville Kilpatrick, Donald Harrison, Kenneth Williams, Ezeb Vercher, A. L. Lovell, Prentiss Cook, and Emmet Thompson. A native of Claiborne Parish, Mrs. Gresham was before her marriage Miss Exar Estelle Coleman. She had been a resident of Atlanta for many years, where she was active in the Atlanta Baptist Church of which she was a member. She was also a member of the Atlanta home demonstration club, serving as its president until her health prevented. She is survived by her husband, H. A. Gresham, merchant of Atlanta; one son, O. M. Gresham, and two grandsons, Ronny and Clifton of Jonesboro; four sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Avanell Gordon, Mrs. Blanche Smith, Mrs. Nora Watts, Mrs. Annabelle Dick, Onnie Coleman, and Thomas Coleman, all of Shreveport. A host of relatives and friends attended last rites.
