M. "Bud" Gregory, 52, of Sikes, died in a local hospital Friday, November 11, following a heart attack suffered while hog hunting near Sikes. Stanley Branch and E. E. Crain, both of Sikes, who were hunting with him at the time of his sudden illness, rushed him to the hospital in Winnfield where he lived only a few minutes. The deceased had been employed as a school bus driver for the Sikes school for about 16 years. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Sikes Baptist Church. Rev. Edwin Smith, Rev. Aaron Gorham, and Rev. Robert Hartsell were in charge of the services. Interment was made in the Sikes Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Onie Gregory of Sikes; sons Faye of Baton Rouge, T. B., who is in the Army stationed in Pennsylvania; Jimmy of Sikes; and one daughter, Dida Faye of Sikes; sisters, Mrs. J___ Parker, Mrs. Emma Parker, Mrs. Ida Head, Mrs. Velma Johnson, Mrs. Hazel Walker, Mrs. Lizzie Parker, all of Sikes, and Mrs. Laura Dunn of Houston, Texas; brothers Fleet Gregory of Houston, Truman Gregory of Houston, and Alon Gregory of Joyce.
