M. Green, Retired Farmer James Monroe Green, Sr., age 84, a retired farmer of Dodson, died at 2:40 p.m. December 8, in a Winnfield hospital after a long illness. Mr. Green, a native of Jackson Parish, was a member of the Cypress Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Cypress Creek Church with the Rev. Louis Moffett and Rev. Jewel Canerday officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Survivors include his wife, Minnie Barnes Green; three sons, J. M. Green, Dodson, Herman Green, Vidalia, and Paul Green of Dodson; four daughters, Mrs. W. M. Anderson, Quitman, Mrs. B. M. Bullock, Bienville, Mrs. J. B. Calhoun, Eros, La., Mrs. Douglas Durbin, Dodson; one foster daughter, Mrs. Hubbard Garrett, Route 3, Winnfield; one half brother, Jesse Green, of Tullos, and sixteen grandchildren.
