P. Gresham, 75, Dies Following Heart Attack John Phillip "Pete" Gresham, 75, associated with the timber industry since 1921, died suddenly May 17 at Winnfield General Hospital following a heart attack. Pete Gresham began working with a woods crew in 1921 and for the past 35 years has owned and operated a pole and piling business on the Alexandria highway. He was born in Atlanta in 1894, the son of S. P. B. Gresham and Liller Gresham. Mr. Gresham was a member of Eastern Star Lodge No. 151 in Winnfield and the First Christian Church. Funeral services were held Monday, May 19, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home, Rev. W. R. Gage officiating. Masonic graveside rites were conducted at the Atlanta Cemetery. Mr. Gresham is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie D. Lee Gresham of Atlanta; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Gresham Allen, Lake Charles; Mrs. Gay Nell Wallace of Atlanta; one brother, C. E. Gresham of Atlanta; one sister, Mrs. Cordis Williams of Atlanta; five grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and numberous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Cloy Shelton, David Shelton, Clyde Gresham, Carl James Gresham, Ronnie Gresham, and Howard Quast.
