All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: July 3, 1958 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Final Rites For Mrs. Annie Griffin Held June 30th Final rites for Mrs. Annie Carter Griffin, 85, who died at her home in the Yankee Springs community June 29, were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Rich Hancock and Rev. Jewel Canerday officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were Louis Webb, Roy Griffin, J. A. Higgs, Leslie, Donnie, and A. J. Griffin. A native of Winn Parish, Mrs. Griffin was born Oct. 18, 1873. She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of that area. Surviving are three sons, Ellis and Odie Griffin of Winnfield; Lee Griffin of Homer, La.; two daughters, Mrs. J. A. Higgs, Winnfield, Mrs. Arthur Hodges, Goldonna; 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She also leaves two brothers, Tommy Carter, Georgetown, Clinton Carter, Colfax; and one sister, Mrs. Tavia Scott, Baton Rouge.
