All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: September 12, 1935 Winn Parish Enterprise Cora Lee Griffin, 5, Victim of Diphtheria Wednesday Afternoon Cora Lee Griffin, five year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler Griffin of Calvin who was given treatment for diphtheria in a local clinic for more than a week, and was considered well on the way to recovery, died enroute to her home Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 form a heart attack. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at Bethlehem near Calvin. The child is survived by her parents and two brothers. From: September 19, 1935 Winn Parish Enterprise Corma Lee Griffin Is Laid To Rest In Bethlehem Cemetery On Thursday, Sept. 12, relatives and friends gathered at the Bethlehem Cemetery to pay their lat respects to Little Corma Lee Griffin, 4 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Griffin, who was claimed by death after a short illness with diphtheria. Services were conducted by Rev. F. M. Showers of Calvin after which she, in a lovely white casket banked beneath wreaths of beautiful flowers, was laid to rest. She is survived by her parents and two brothers, William Glen and Donald Roy. The sweet sunny dispostion of the child had gained her many friends to grieve her passing on. To her sorrowing parents we will say, "Trust the God whose mercy endures forever, though his thoughts are above our thoughts, and his way past our finding out." (Contributed)
