W.R. GRIFFIN DIES WEDNESDAY AT WATTSVILLE

Funeral Services Conducted Thursday at Bethlehem Church

W.R. [William Reedis] Griffin, 72 years of age, died at his home at
Wattsville, this parish, Wednesday morning at about 5 o'clock following an
illness of a week's duration. Funeral services were conducted at the Bethlehem
church Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

Mr. Griffin was one of Winn Parish's substantial farmers. He had lived in the
Wattsville community practically all his life. He was a member of the Baptist
church.

He is survived by his wife, who before marriage was Lindy [Ethelinda]
Carpenter, two sons, Purvis and Wheeler Griffin, and four daughters, Mrs. S.
Garrett, Mrs. Pat Garrett, Mrs. Fait [Fate] Chandler and Mrs. R.E. Howard, all
of Wattsville, a large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren and a
host of friends.

W.R. GRIFFIN DIES WEDNESDAY AT HIS BETHLEHEM HOME

W.R. Griffin, life-long resident of Winn Parish, was claimed by death
Wednesday, Sept. 25, at his home in the Bethlehem community, following a
stroke of paralysis. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F.M. Shows,
Baptist minister, at the Bethlehem cemetery, at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon.

Mr. Griffin was 73 years old. In his young life he married Miss Ethelynda
Carpenter. To them were born ten children, six of whom survive him. They are
Mrs. H.L. Chandler, Mrs. P.L. Garrett, Mrs. S. Garrett, Mrs. R.E. Howard, and
P.S. Griffin.
