All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: December 2, 1965 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Last Rites For Hugh Griffin Held Nov. 26 Funeral services for Hugh Griffin, 45 year old former Winnfield man who died suddenly November 24, 1965, at his home in Plainview, Texas, of a heart attack, were held at 2:30 p.m. November 26 in the Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Hardy Beaubouef officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Winnfield. Mr. Griffin had lived in Plainview only three days prior to his death. Before that he had been employed by the Olin Mathieson Chemical Company in Winnfield. He was a native of Boyce and a member of the Baptist Church. He was a lumber mill worker. Survivors include his widow; two sons, James W. and Ronald Griffin of Winnfield; one daughter, Mrs. Gerald Jones; two brothers, Lewis Griffin of Alexandria and G. W. Griffin of Urania; three sisters, Mrs. Doug Evans of Tullos, Ms. Bud Joy of Jena, and Mrs. D. J. Perrion of Alexandria, and six grandchildren.
