Griffin of Bethlehem Succumbs From Illness April 5 R. L. Griffin, 56 years of age, a member of one of Wattsville's oldest families, died at his home in that community Sunday noon, April 5, 1936 after an illness of 18 months. Mr. Griffin was a lifelong resident of Wattsville Community. He was a home loving man, a kind father and a devoted husband and had been a member of the Baptist Church for many years. Funeral services were held Monday at Bethlehem Church. The Rev. F. M. Shows, pastor of the Calvin Baptist Church was in charge. The surviving relatives are the widow, one son, Russell Griffin; two daughters, Mrs. E. Bates of Bethlehem and Mrs. Walter Simms of Gansville; five grandchildren, Floyd Brunson, nephew from Texas, Mrs. Velma Peterson, niece, Goldonna, La., and the nieces and nephews of his deceased sister, Mrs. Ider McQuillan and a host of cousins, neighbors, and friends.
