S. Forest Service in Winnfield, died suddenly from a heart attack in the Forest Service office in the First Federal Building here about 1:50 p.m. Tuesday. Guynes, a resident of Dry Prong, had been with the Forest Service 16 years. Funeral services were being held at 10:30 Thursday morning in the Liberty Chapel Methodist Church in Williana, with burial in the Liberty Chapel Cemetery. Rev. R. E. Walton of Colfax and Rev. Mose Mercer of Pollock will officiate, with burial under direction of Hixson Brothers in Winnfield. Guynes first entered forestry work with the CCC's in 1935, and in 1944 joined the Forest Service here. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vera Guynes, and one son, George Barron. Active pallbearers will be Hugh S. Redding, Grady Crooks, Hardy Martin, Walter Bullock, Odis Dean, Willie H. Collins, David McCarthey, and Floyd Whatley. Honorary pallbearers are L. L. Brewton, George Tannehill, W. E. Schowalter, Odis Peterson, Lester Thornton, Francis Martin, James Hemphill, Volmer Bowen, Lee Cloud, George Cunningham, Gerald Bice, and all the Kisatchie National Forest personnel.
