J. Gwinn, aged 54 years. She was born in Camden, Wilcox County, Alabama, October 30, 1855. The deceased was a sufferer for a long time. She was a member of the Baptist Church, a devoted Christian mother, an affectionate wife and a kind and charitable neighbor. Her life work was devoted to the practice of all those home virtues that illumine a woman nobly planned. She was esteemed ab all that knew her. She was laid to rest last Sunday afternoon in the city cemetery. Around her last resting place were gathered hundreds of the citizens, attesting the high esteem in which her character was held and the deep sympathy felt for the bereaved family. Services were held at the residence and concluded at the cemetery by Rev. J. R. Edwards. A devoted husband, a daughter and three sons mourn the loss of the wife and mother, and numerous relatives cherish her memory. The home has lost its chief magnet and this community a beloved resident. May she rest in peace.
